Meetings and events

Meetings are held at the Beverly Public Library, usually on the third Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or so.  Members are asked to bring their individual lunch, a privilege the library has allowed us since food is generally forbidden. But, if you do bring lunch, be discreet. Each meeting will feature a presentation on a poet, movement or form that should be of general interest to members. After the program, members are encouraged to bring an original poem and six to 10 copies for members to offer gentle critique.

  1. Calling all North Shore Poets to Speak Up Spoken Word Open Mike. We meet every Wednesday at the Walnut Street Coffee Cafe, 157 Walnut St. Lynn, MA at 7:30 pm. Folks get 5 minutes at the mike to speak whatever’s on your mind. The feature goes on at 8:30 for half an hour with more open mike following. Folks read poems, tell stories, cuss, kiss, and clap. Plus every person at the mike gets a very special and oh so valuable rare thank you coin. See you next Wednesday. Ciao, Tony Toledo

    1. Nice to hear from you. We are always open to new poets and try to support poets in their various activities, but usually as individuals. We share information about readings, meetings, open mics., etcetera. What kind of collaboration are you thinking of?

  3. Happy New Year, Cathryn!

  4. Hello, I am looking for a gentleman poet from this area who volunteers at senior centers and communities. He read for us a couple of months ago and I have lost his contact. He is likely late 50’s to early 60’s and mainly writes nature poetry. Does he sound familar to anyone? Would appreciate any help to locate him again. jacci 3/2025

    1. I’m sorry, but I don’t know the person you are talking about. I hope you find him.
